Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani: Bahrain Annexation Plot Doomed To Fail

Qom, May 15, IRNA – Religious scholar and jurisprudent Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani severely criticized the Saudi conspiracy to annex Bahrain and said it is already doomed to failure. The Grand Ayatollah said the Sheikhs in Persian Gulf coastal countries should understand that Bahrain belongs only to its own people. He said the plot was initiated by those who hold childish thoughts. The scholar further noted that the time when colonial countries divided lands is long over because nowadays it is people who determine the fate of their countries. Al Khalifa now feel total failure in front of Bahrain’s brave and zealous nation and thus thinks annexing Bahrain will save it, the ayatollah said. He urged scholars of Bahrain and other Islamic countries to voice their protest to the plot by taking the issue to international bodies./end
