Azerbaijan, ICESCO sign Action Plan to deepen cooperation

Baku, December 25, AZERTAC “An Action Plan on deepening cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO)" has been signed at ICESCO headquarters in Rabat, the press service of Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry told AZERTAC. The document was inked by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco Nazim Samadov and Director General of ICESCO Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik. The Action Plan envisages the implementation of joint activities within the framework of "Peace for Culture" global campaign launched on the initiative of Azerbaijan in partnership with UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and ICESCO. Moreover, it is planned to support ICESCO Young Professionals Program, protection and preservation of cultural heritage monuments of the Islamic world, as well as projects to be implemented in the field of information technology. Following the signing ceremony, Ambassador Nazim Samadov met with ICESCO DG Salim Mohammed AlMalik. During the meeting, the sides highlighted the close cooperation between ICESCO and Azerbaijan. They also discussed the future cooperation plans between the Organization and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the country’s Embassy in Rabat.
