The four-page article provides an insight into the history, culture of energy-rich Azerbaijan. It says Armenia used the chaos in Azerbaijan caused by the collapse of the USSR to occupy the Azerbaijani region of Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions. The article also praises the country`s oil strategy. “The oil strategy devised by national leader Heydar Aliyev resulted in the signing of the Contract of the Century in 1994, which marked the beginning of the full-scale development of hydrocarbon resources in the Caspian. This strategy gave a kick-start to rapid economic development, in particular, production at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields and implementation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum, Shahdeniz projects.” The article also narrates on the friendship exchange agreement between the Azerbaijani region of Ismayilly and Japan`s city of Ito.
