Azerbaijani PM meets Secretary General of Turkic Council

Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov has met with Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States Baghdad Amreyev.
They discussed the expansion of mutual activity among Turkic states, the deepening of regional cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres and future action plans of the Turkic Council.
Congratulating Baghdad Amreyev on his election as secretary general of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, PM Novruz Mammadov wished him success in his endeavors.
Noting that the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States is a very important organization for Azerbaijan, Novruz Mammadov pointed out that the council plays a significant role in enhancing cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries.
Touching upon Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations, the premier said that the two countries enjoy very good and friendly ties. He underlined that sincere friendship between the heads of state plays an important role in increasing the bilateral ties to such a high level.
Hailing friendly relations among Turkic-speaking states, Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev stressed that the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, which was established in the ancient Nakhchivan region of Azerbaijan in 2009, gives special impetus to the development of these relations.
Underlining that the 9th anniversary of the establishment of the council was celebrated on October 3, Baghdad Amreyev said that the significant steps have been taken to strengthen cooperation among the member states over the past period. “Azerbaijan, as a country where the council was established, plays an important role in expanding the activity of the organization and cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries.”
They also exchanged views over Azerbaijan`s hosting the 7th Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States in 2019 and other issues of mutual interest.
