Bill on film to be submitted to parliament
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its meeting on Monday, the cabinet decided to submit to parliament a draft law on film after having reflected in it some proposals.
The bill has been formulated with key objectives to support the film industry and a cinema network at a national level, to create an economic and financial landscape for film art, and to provide foreign filmmakers and artists with a legal, tax and customs friendly environment.
With aims to propagandize Mongolian national history, culture, lifestyle, custom and tradition, the bill reflects some clauses on giving back up to 40% of total expenses of those films made in Mongolia, allotting the money from a Film Foundation, and on introducing an appropriate system of encouraging domestic and foreign people, entities or investors that render financial support to films.
The law on film will contribute to designing of a state policy and directions on film art, to preparing advanced professionals in foreign countries, to promoting national film industry, and to making this art competitive at international field.
