Canada will not set red line on Iran’s nuclear program: official

TEHRAN,Oct.1(MNA) – Canada will not specify “red lines” in regard to Iran’s nuclear program which, if crossed, would trigger military action, according to a senior Canadian government official. “Canada will not be publicly setting red lines. That is for others to do. We will continue to work with our allies to find a peaceful resolution on Iran,” the unidentified official stated on Friday, the Ottawa Citizen website reported. The statement was made after Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday morning. According to the report, Harper told Netanyahu, “We want to see a peaceful resolution” of the dispute over Iran’s nuclear program. U.S. President Barack Obama has also refused Israel’s request to set a red line in this regard.
