Chinese FM: China Against Unilateral Sanctions Against Iran

Beijing, Sept 6, IRNA - - Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Chiechi on Wednesday said China is against any unilateral sanction against Iran. He was speaking to reporters after a meeting with his US counterpart Hilary Clinton in Beijing. Yang said China sticks to international laws and spares no effort to patch up differences between Iran and the West through negotiations. He expressed hope the dispute over Iran's nuclear program would be settled through negotiations and that the talks must not be deviated from its right tracts. The Chinese foreign minister said China supports any talks between Iran and G5+1 and does its best to play a positive role in this regard. "Therefore each party to the talks should take the other party's suggestions seriously, stick to negotiations and focus on positive ideas," Yang added. He underlined China will further cooperate with the United Nations and Iran in this regard./end
