Envoy: Iran To Continue Peaceful Nuclear Program With Honor

Belgrade, Feb 20, IRNA – Iranˈs ambassador to Belgrade said that Tehran in cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA) and with holding talks with Group 5+1 continues its peaceful nuclear program with honor. Abulqassem Delfi made the remarks in an interview with Serbia Public Broadcasting network. He underlined that Iranˈs nuclear program is upon international law and Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). He stressed that Iran has had no deviation from its peaceful nuclear program. Delfi said that Iranˈs nuclear activities are completely transparent. On the upcoming talks between Iran and Group 5+1 in Kazakhstan, he said that Iran will continue its technical talks with IAEA. Iran has no concern about talks with Group 5+1 and it is always ready for negotiation upon mutual respect. Delfi added that nuclear weapons have no place in Iranˈs military doctrine, pointing out that Supreme Leaderˈs stance on mass destruction weapons can be a document to end the long time issue. Concerning the Zionist regime threats, the ambassador said that the Zionist regime had never signed NPT and now has hundreds of nuclear warheads, so it has no right to prevent countries to use peaceful nuclear technologies. About demonstration and uprisings in a number of Arab and Muslim countries in the Middle East and north Africa, the ambassador said that the movements show that these nations want to return to their cultural and religious traditions and roots. Referring to dual policies of certain countries in the region, Delfi said that Bahrain is a small country in the region, whose people want change in political system of the country through peaceful means, but some neighboring states and foreign powers are trying to deviate demands of majority of people of Bahrain. Concerning situation in Syria, Delfi said that this country has many possibilities for creating democracy and President Assad enjoys people support, but presence of alien forces, with support of a number of Arab and western countries are creating problems in the country. It is completely clear that the aim of west for such moves in the region is to support and help the Zionist regime, which is now in a difficult situation. Referring to good relations between Tehran and Belgrade, the ambassador said that although Serbia is involved in membership stages for European Union and settlement of Kosovo issue, we could promote friendly ties to a desirable level./end
