FM holds meeting with Federica Mogherini

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ While taking part in the 12th ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting (ASEM FMM12) in Luxembourg, Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Purevsuren Wednesday met with Ms Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the European Commission’s Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The FM thanked the European Union (EU) for supporting and aiding Mongolia in ensuring a preparation for the 2016 ASEM Summit which will run Mongolia next year, and underlined that Mongolia attaches a great significance to the ties with the EU, one of its "Third Neighbors". Mongolia always wants to broaden the relationship with the EU, in all spheres, he said and asked the EU side to have its members accelerate a ratification of the bilateral partnership and cooperation agreement and to focus on augmenting the investments of the EU members' private sector in Mongolia so as to diversify the Mongolian economy and to intensify the Mongolia-EU economic and commercial collaboration. Mr Purevsuren also briefed about Mongolia’s initiatives and activities such as the permanent neutrality policy and ongoing measures for ensuring the security in Northeast Asia.
