FM: Iran Striving To Help NAM Reach Its Progressive Humanitarian Goals

Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA – Iran, as the rotating president of the Non-Aligned Movement is trying to help the body achieve its progressive humanitarian goals, said Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi Monday. Addressing the second International Conference on Human Rights and Cultures, the minister said relying on its Islamic teachings, Iran would provide NAM with various initiatives to achieve its goals in the field of human rights. The conference is held with the participation of foreign diplomats and ambassadors in Tehran. Salehi hoped for a day when human rights would be completely promoted worldwide moving from words into actions. He stressed that different cultures and civilizations could play a key role to promote human rights situation worldwide. Inviting all nations to justice, brotherhood and kindness and encouraging them to avoid war, discrimination, violence and prejudice were issues shared by all past and present cultures and civilizations, the minister said, adding that this is why the issue of human rights is the most important part of all cultures./end
