France stresses removal of anti-Iranian sanctions

PARIS, Oct. 25 (MNA) – France’s Secretary General for National Defense, Louis Gautier, said France calls on all sides to Iran’s nuclear deal to adhere to all of its provisions, stressing the removal of anti-Iranian sanctions. France’s Secretary General for National Defense and Security, Louis Gautier, held a meeting on Monday in Paris with Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Head of Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran, during which he voiced his country’s keen interest in developing and continuing dialogs with the Islamic Republic. The French senior official deemed fighting terrorism a priority of his country, adding “we see the root of terrorism in violence and believe that measures are required to be taken to prevent the youth from joining this trend.” “Muslims comprise an important section of France’s society and we believe that this section has nothing to do with extremist groups,” he stressed. Talking about the current situation in Yemen, he said “France strongly backs a political solution in that country and firmly believes that war has no happy ending.” He also discussed the Mosul offensive – operations to retake the northern Iraqi city of Mosul from the ISIL terrorist group, saying “it is critical to think of solutions now for the situation following the liberation of Mosul so that the victory would not ignite next battles.” The Iranian senior parliamentarian, for his part, maintained that the wrong policies of the US and its allies in the region was one of the main reasons for the spread of terrorism. Boroujerdi expressed regret over the deadly terrorist attacks in France, adding “it is not surprising that the youth from certain poor countries in the region become attracted to Takfiri ideologies, but think tanks in France and other European countries must deeply investigate the reasons the youth from western countries join these terrorist trends.” About Yemen, he said “Saudi Arabia will be the biggest loser of this war as it continues its bombardments.” He further noted the wrong policies of certain regional countries in Syria, stressing that the disastrous situation in Syria must not be repeated in Libya. A Parliamentary delegation of Iran, led by Alaeddin Boroujerdi, arrived in Paris on Monday, with an aim to exchange views on parliamentary issues with French officials.
