Germany Slammed For Not Condemning Killing Of Iranian Scientists

Berlin, Feb 4, IRNA -- Iran's Ambassador to Germany Ali Reza Sheikh Attar on Friday lambasted Berlin for not condemning the killing of Iranian scientists. Talking to the German edition of Financial Times (FTD), Iran's top diplomat said the German government did not even condemn the murder of the five Iranian scientists. Usually Berlin condemns unimportant events but in this case, it chose to keep silent which is extremely regrettable, Sheikh Attar added. Meanwhile, the Iranian envoy made clear his country would continue its uranium enrichment program on Iranian soil as entitled by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Sheikh Attar reiterated Iran was not pursuing a nuclear weapon, citing Islamic teachings. Referring to the tightening of western sanctions against Iran, the ambassador said this was tantamount to a loss of trust and could ultimately lead to a dead-end in nuclear talks. Sheikh Attar warned any attack on Iran would be met with a robust and decisive answer./end
