Indian Muslims Protest Against Anti-Islam Film, Cartoon In Tamil Nadu

New Delhi, Sept 25, IRNA -- Around 5,000 Muslims Monday took out a rally in Dindigul in Tamali Nadu state condemning an anti-Islam US film and cartoon of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a French magazine. The protesters, under the banner of All India Islam Movements Federation, also held a demonstration and raised slogans against US and Israel for making the film which has triggered worldwide protest. They also condemned a French daily for carrying a slander against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). At this crucial juncture when most of the world countries were witnessing protests against a US anti-Islam film, the publication of an obscene cartoon of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a French magazine has fanned the fire and has made the situation more volatile. According to reports French satirical weekly published the objectionable cartoons of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) last week. Earlier, a 14-minute trailer for the video titled “Innocence of Muslims,” was uploaded on the internet depicting Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in a derogatory manner According to media reports, the video is a brain child of a 52-year old Israeli-American, Sam Bacile who had received a donation of $ 5 million from 100 Jewish donors to make a movie called “Islam is Cancer.” The film had sparked fury among Muslims around the globe in which around 50 people have lost their life./end
