Int'l Confab On Honoring Divine Religions Held In Tbilisi

Baku, Sept 30, IRNA – International conference on honoring divine religious was held in Tbilisi, capital of Georgia, on Saturday. In the one-day conference, which was held by Al-Beyt Institute in Tbilisi, representatives from Orthodox, Catholic, Armenian, and Assyrian Churchs, deputy head of Ayatollah Sistani Office in Qom in international affairs, head of Georgia Muslims Office, Iran cultural attaché in Georgia, head of Oriental Studies Institute of Eilia State University, head of Georgia Philosophy Association and Tbilisi Friday prayer leader participated in the conference and presented their viewpoints on co-existence principle and rejection of defamation to religions. Other participants in the conference were deputy head of Ahlolbait World Assembly in cultural affairs, deputy head of Georgia Science Academy, head of seminary school of Sunni in Turkey, director of Georgian Shia seminary school, representative of cultural center of Azerbaijan Republic, head of political studies association of Qom seminary school, head of Quran encyclopedia, faculty of Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Institute, Moufid University, Islamic Open University, Islamic Culture and Thought Research Center, Baqer-al-Olum University, Jamea'-al-Mustafa al-A'lameyeh. The participants discussed issues concerning observing respect and reverence for divine religions, avoiding defamation to each others sanctities, mutual respect for religions, necessity of observing equality and co-existence among followers of divine religions. The participants underlined necessity of continuation of such conferences and condemned insult to the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and called for firm reaction toward insulters to religious sanctities by international organizations. They underlined dialog among religions as the most effective way for more understanding among religions in confrontation with world important problems and incidents./end
