Iran-Ethiopia Discuss Bilateral Ties

Addis Ababa, Jan 30, IRNA -- Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi conferred with Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi here in the Ethiopian capital on Sunday. Salehi and Zenawi discussed expansion of ties in different areas. Salehi submitted President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s message on cooperation with the African countries to Zenawi. Salehi also outlined the achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran in scientific and technological fields during more than 30 years of economic embargo imposed on Iran by the West and colonial powers. Zenawi for his part emphasized using Iran’s experiences in scientific, technological, agricultural, pharmaceutical and industrial fields and transfer of Tehran's technological know-how to Ethiopia. Zenawi also urged the need for holding the 6th Joint Economic Cooperation Commission between Iran and Ethiopia. /end
