Iran: Regional Nations Distrust Trans-regional Forces

Tehran, April 18, IRNA – Iran's Army Commander Brigadier General Ataollah Salehi said on Tuesday that trans-regional forces have proved they are not trustworthy for any regional nations. He told IRNA on the occasion of National Army Day, 'Trans-regional forces have already interfered in the internal affairs of two regional states for eight years in one country and 11 years in another. They re still there doing whatever they want but we must wait and see the outcomes of their presence there.' They occupied one country for eight years but finally were forced to leave there shamefully, Salehi said. He added that they occupied Afghanistan under pretext of fighting terrorism and establishing peace and stability, but their presence has only led to the devastation of the country. The Army commander stressed that principally the regional countries and Iran's neighbors have experienced the destructive results of the trans-regional forces and therefore they had better not let them stay in the region any more./end
