Iran-Russia military cooperation not halted: Iran`s FM spokesperson
TEHRAN, Nov. 2 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast said that Tehran and Moscow are continuing their military cooperation.
Mehmanparast made the remarks during a press briefing on Tuesday in reply to a question about the news reports saying that Russia has agreed to provide Iran with electronic warfare in return for the cancellation of the contract for delivery of the S-300 missile system to Iran.
Konstantin Biryulin, deputy director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation, said on October 25 that Russia has delivered to Iran a consignment of mobile radar radiation detectors and hopes to agree on a number of similar deals, RIA Novosti reported.
“We’re not talking here about aircraft or submarines or even S-300 systems. It is about providing security for the Iranian state,” Biryulin stated.
Mehmanparast said, “Tehran and Moscow has a good relation, and we are continuing our military cooperation.”
If any agreement is made, it will be announced, he added.
