Tehran, April 17, IRNA - The Foreign Ministry summoned the Saudi envoy to Tehran Monday to protest the bad condition of Iranian citizens imprisoned in the Saudi city of Dammam . Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Citizens Abroad Affairs Hassan Ghashghavi in his meeting with the Saudi ambassador called for the immediate explanation of Saudi Arabia and clarifying the situation of Iranian citizens detained there. An informed person at the Foreign Ministry stressed Tehran’s commitment to pursue the rights of its citizens everywhere including those detained in the Saudi Arabia. “Saudi Arabia should bind itself to international rules and regulations considering prisoners,” the official added.
