Japan, China, S. Korea to Deepen Cooperation to Fight Ebola

Beijing, Nov. 23 (Jiji Press)--The health ministers of Japan, China and South Korea Sunday agreed to deepen their trilateral cooperation to fight Ebola. The three countries will work together to contribute to the global fight against the outbreak, the ministers said in a joint statement adopted at a meeting in Beijing. The meeting was attended by Yasuhisa Shiozaki, Japanese health, labor and welfare minister, Li Bin, minister at China's National Health and Family Planning Commission, and South Korean Health Minister Moon Hyong-pyo. There has been progress at various levels in dialogue among the three countries on health and medical issues, Shiozaki told reporters after the meeting, adding that they are in agreement to promote cooperation. Referring to Beijing's massive aid to help West Africa's efforts to deal with the epidemic, Shiozaki said it is welcome that China fulfills its responsibility as an international power. END
