Japan, Uzbek Leaders Hold Phone Talks

Tokyo, June 9 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida held phone talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Friday, stressing Japan's stance of working with the international community in responding to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Mirziyoyev expressed his support for Japan's bid to become a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council. Kishida conveyed his country's intention to provide support for the stability and development of Central Asia. In response, Mirziyoyev said Uzbekistan wants to keep cooperating with Japan for the stabilization of the region. END
