Lavrov says Russia ready to discuss dialogue between EAEU, EU

Moscow is ready to discuss the initiative concerning the dialogue between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following talks with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini on Monday. "We have briefed our counterparts on the Eurasian integration processes, particularly on its role in dialogue between Russia and the European Union," the Russian top diplomat said. "Initiatives have been put forward to build direct contacts between the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union." "We are ready to discuss these ideas in a practical way, as they may help increase competitiveness and advance integration in the Eurasian space," the Russian foreign minister noted. "We have never rejected the long-term strategic goal of establishing a single economic and humanitarian space stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific, focusing on the principle of equal and indivisible security," Lavrov pointed out.
