Lebanese FM: We Won't Forget Iranian Kidnapped Diplomats

Beirut, July 8, IRNA – Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour said 4 Iranian kidnapped diplomats won't be forgotten as Imam Moussaa Sadr has not been forgotten after 34 years. He also said the Lebanese government is doing its best for freedom of the diplomats. He was speaking in a ceremony to commemorate the 30th anniversary of kidnapping four Iranian diplomats which was held in Maroun al-Raas region in south of Lebanon and in the presence of Iran ambassador in Beirut, President advisor and wife of one the kidnapped diplomats Maryam Mojtahedzadeh and sister of Ahmad Motavasselian, another kidnapped diplomat. Adnan Mansour said that current Lebanese government, like former governments, has been investigating the fate of four kidnapped Iranian diplomats and has tried to remove the ambiguities of the case. The automobile carrying four Iranian diplomats, which was travelling from Tripoli to Beirut on July 4, 1982 was stopped in Barbare region by armed agents of the Zionist regime called “Lebanese forces” and they were kidnapped./end
