Majlis Starts Debate On Next Year Budget Bill

Tehran, Jan 29, IRNA – Iranian parliament on Wednesday started debate on the government’s proposed budget bill for the next Iranian calendar year (to start March 21, 2014). According to the Majlis regulations, rapporteur of the Majlis Budget Integration Commission will offer a report on the examination procedures of the proposed bill and then 20 parliamentarians will present their views for and against the bill. President Hassan Rouhani submitted his proposed budget for the next Iranian year to Majlis on December 8, 2013 following which the legislative body started examining its content in its specialized committees. The President’s 195,000 billion rials proposed bill to Majlis shows a 6-percent growth compared to that of the previous year./end
