MKO Always Supported By US : Iran Judiciary Chief

Tehran, Oct 4, IRNA – Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli-Larijani said on Wednesday that MKO has always been supported by the US. Addressing a session of Judiciary’s high ranking officials, he added that the US supported the group even when it was apparently on its terrorists list and acted freely in Iraq. “Now that they feel their situation has been endangered in Iraq and the world, they want to support them clearly by excluding them of the terrorists list,” he said. He further noted that the Americans argue that since they did not committed crimes over the past ten years, they delisted them while according to a report by the US Institute for National Defense Researches, they constantly carry out terror acts until 2009. Pointing to the issuance of an anti-Iran statement by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council members, Larijani added that this was not something new and that the critical situation in the region stems from the interference of war-mongering countries in the region. Iran was never been after atomic weapons, he said, adding that it is used as an excuse to mount pressure on Iran and certain regional states ignoring the Israeli non-commitment to any international accord, consider Iran as a source concern. Authoritarian rulers should learn from the fate of their fallen counterparts in the region and know that the US is after its own interests, he said. Underling the Judiciary’s serious resolve to counter economic, political and cultural corruption in the society, he further noted that judiciary’s non-discriminatory behavior towards offenders has won the public confidence./end
