National Meeting Marks Anniversary of Formation of DIU

Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- A national meeting took place at the People's Palace of Culture on October 16 to mark the 90th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU), the Juche-type revolutionary organization formed by President Kim Il Sung. The President formed the DIU, the new-type vanguard organization, on October 17, Juche 15 (1926) with the grandiose plan to carve out a new road of the Korean revolution. Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, in his report said that the formation of the DIU was a historic declaration that meant the solemn start of the revolutionary cause of Juche and an event which brought the fundamental turn in carving out the nation's destiny. The Korean revolution originated from the DIU has firmly preserved the bloodline of Juche and advanced along the road of victory despite difficult hardships under the outstanding and tested leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, the reporter said. The party building and revolutionary cause of Juche started from the DIU has now greeted the era of the great inheritance and turn under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un, he added. Victory and glory are always in store for the service personnel and people of the DPRK successfully carrying forward the tradition and cause of the DIU under the ever-victorious leadership of the great Party, he said, calling upon all Koreans to carry on a dynamic struggle to successfully accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche started from the DIU, rallied close around Kim Jong Un. -0-
