National Security Advisor to his German counterpart: Terrorism still poses a real threat, and the international community must cooperate to eradicate it
Baghdad / NINA / The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, discussed today, Wednesday, with the German National Security Adviser, Jans Plotner, intelligence cooperation between the two countries and the dismantling of the "Al-Hol" camp.
The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement, "Al-Araji received in his office the German National Security Adviser, Jans Plotner, and during the meeting, they discussed the continuation of coordination and cooperation between Iraq and Germany in the field of combating terrorism and exchanging information, especially in the security and intelligence field, and the file of the Syrian al-Hol camp and the necessity of dismantling it, and promoting accountability for crimes committed by ISIS terrorists.
Al-Araji stressed: "The Iraqi government is determined to continue cooperation and partnership with the international community, and to support means of stability and security in the region and the world," noting: "Terrorism still poses a real threat, and the international community must cooperate to eliminate it."
The National Security Adviser said: "There are changes in the world and countries must converge with each other to overcome challenges and crises," stressing that "Iraq will not be part of previous or new axes."
For his part, the German National Security Adviser affirmed, "his country's support for the directions of the Iraqi government and its endeavors to maintain the security and stability of the region," expressing "Germany's readiness to cooperate with Iraq regarding the Syrian Al-Hol camp file, and to expedite the end of this file./ End
