OIC secretary general calls for increasing the pressures on al-Asad regime in Syria

CAIRO (A.A) - December 14, 2011 - Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said that the pressure on al-Asad regime should be increased to stop the bloodshed in Syria. Ihsanoglu, who arrived in Cairo prior to his visit to Libya, told reporters that they were against an external intervention in Syria, adding that it was seen that no results were gained in Afghanistan, Libya and Iraq where foreign intervention were made. Ihsanoglu said that OIC supported Arab League's decision to put sanctions on Syria.
