Pakistani Editor Urges West To Accept Iran’s N-right

Islamabad, March 6, IRNA – Editor of Pakistani newspaper on Tuesday said that Iran has taken a strong position in talks with 5+1 group adding that ultimately West has to accept Iran’s peaceful nuclear right. Talking to IRNA, Zahid Malik, chief editor of daily ‘Pakistan Observer’ said that Iran is following an independent foreign policy and is not accepting the western pressure. The eighth round of Iran, 5+1 Group talks were held in Kazakhstanˈs capital city, Almaty, on February 26th and 27th. Zahid Malik added that shift in the policy of 5+1 group towards Iran is only because they have realized that the Islamic Republic cannot be pressurized over its right to acquire peaceful nuclear technology. He described as wise the policies of Iran towards the world issues. However, he warned Iran to remain vigilant towards western conspiracies and not to be complacent. He added that Iran is a strong country and has the ability to respond any kind of western moves. Zahid Malik expressing his views said that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and the country has no intention of developing nuclear weapons. He said that Iranian leadership has categorically said that use of nuclear weapons is ‘haram’. The editor said that unity of Iranian nation is their strength. He said sanctions have proved a futile exercise against Iran and boosted Iran’s progress. The journalist strongly believed that time has come that West should lift sanctions from Iran. He said that many lobbies in the United States want change in the aggressive American foreign policy. Answering a question he said that Iran is a strong country of the region and the world. He added that Iran can play an important role in restoring peace in Syria and Afghanistan. “Iran holds an important position in the region,” the analyst said. He noted that issue of Afghanistan cannot be solved without the support of Iran. The analyst said that the time has gone when US can pressurize any country of the world. “Even Americans are fed up with their government’s policies,” said the journalist. Zahid Malik was of the view that keeping in the changing world scenario West has to accept Iran’s nuclear right. “They have no other option”, he said. He added that Iran is a sovereign state and has the right to develop nuclear technology to cater its growing energy requirements./end
