Patriarch Rahi in his Christmas address: we hope new mandate is successful

NNA - It was for Lebanon and peace in the region that the prayer of the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Rahi, was focused on this Saturday in the context of his message on the occasion of Christmas celebration. The prelate, speaking from the Church of Our Lady in Bkirky, called on President Michel Aoun and PM Saad Hariri to work seriously in order to face all challenges, promote union, and adopt a new electoral law that guaranteed balanced representation. He wished them success in their fight against corruption, the reviving of public institutions, and finding solutions to the socio-economic crises to reduce the rate of poverty and create new work opportunities for the youth of Lebanon. He prayed for the sick, the elderly, orphans and people with special needs, urging the State to assume its responsibilities towards them. He also appealed to Lebanese, Arab and international leaders to put an end to terrorism, fanaticism, wars and conflicts, prompting the UN to work to find a solution for permanent and comprehensive peace and return of refugees. In this context, the leader of the Maronite Church did not forget the refugee crisis in Lebanon and the need to find a solution, considering that the conditions under which they live threaten internal security. He finally prayed for families torn apart by wars, violence and terrorism in the region.
