PM to hold meeting between members of ‘Five Rivers’

BANGKOK, Oct 15 (TNA) -- Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha will call a meeting between members of the so-called ‘Five Rivers’ which he will explain to members his government’s national reform roadmap, said Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam on Thursday. The ‘Five Rivers’ comprise the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), the Cabinet, the National Legislative Assembly (NLA), the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) and the National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA). Members of the CDC and the NRSA are newly appointed on October 5 after the previous drafting charter was not approved by the NLA. The upcoming meeting will be the first meeting between members of the so-called ‘Five Rivers’. Mr Wissanu said the prime minister would call for the official meeting to be held “as soon as possible” so that he could inform them which direction the country would move while he could also answer their questions.
