Poll says majority happy with cabinet reshuffle
BANGKOK, Dec 24 (TNA) -- A Poll conducted by Suan Dusit Rajabhat University showed that a total of 60.09 per cent of the total respondents is satisfied with the most recent cabinet reshuffle, believing that new appointees are suitable with their posts.
The Dusit poll conducted on 1,363 people nationwide between December 19 -23 found that 23.91 per cent of the total respondents disagreed, saying that the cabinet reshuffle, announced December 16, would slow down the government work because new ministers needed some time to study work.
The most favourite by the respondents among reshuffled ministers was Panadda Diskul, ex-minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, who was appointed deputy education minister after he scored 70.58 per cent of the total votes.
Newcomer Chutima Bunyapraphasara who was appointed new deputy agriculture and cooperatives minister scored the least votes among the five most favourites newly appointed ministers. She scored 54.22 per cent of the total votes.
As much as 82.17 per cent of the total respondents said they wanted the government under Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha to solve inflation and debt problems suffering by most people in the country now.
73.22 per cent of the respondents wanted the government to solve the country’s economic, trade and investment, and tourism problems while 71.61 per cent wanted the government to assist rice farmers and rubber planters after prices of the products continued declining in the local and world markets.
Up to 67.35 per cent of the respondents oppose the just approved Computer Law and 66.03 per cent wanted the government follow its planned roadmap before a general election is held in the country. (TNA)
