President Rouhani Congratulates Azerbaijani Counterpart On Re-election

Baku, Oct 12, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani in a message has congratulated his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev on his re-election to the post, Iranian Embassy in Baku announced on Friday. In the message, President Rouhani expressed hope that cordial relations between Tehran and Baku would continue based on mutual respect and in line with the interests of the two nations during President Aliyev's new term in office. President Rouhani also wished good health and success for his Azerbaijani counterpart as well as for the government and nation of the friendly and neighboring country of Azerbaijan. In October 9 presidential election in Azerbaijan, Aliyev was elected for another term winning 84.55 of the total cast votes./end
