President of Russian Railway arrives here

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President of the Russian Railways (RZD) O.V.Belozerov arrived here today (September 14) to attend the 25th High-Level Meeting of Trans Siberian Railway Regulatary Commission. Afterwards, he is to have official meetings with Speaker M.Enkhbold, Prime Minister J.Erdenebat and Minister of Road and Transport Development D.Ganbat. The high-level meeting, being organized under auspices of the President of Mongolia, is being participated by the leaders of Russian and Chinese railway authorities. The participants will touch upon the issue of the Ulaanbaatar Railway initiatives and proposals, which considered as the shortest cut and the cheapest way for the Asia-Europe transit transports and as a potential rival to the Manchurian and Kazakhstani railways. The regulatory commission’s goal is to increase the share of rail transports in the overall Asian-European transports from the current 2% to 8%.
