Rahimi : Iran Ready To Accept Int’l Contributions For Quake Victims

Tabriz, Aug 14, IRNA – The 1st Vice-President here Monday evening announced Iran’s readiness to accept international contributions for the victims of the devastating quake that hit East Azarbaijan province on Saturday. Speaking with IRNA on the sidelines of his Monday night press conference in Tabriz, in response to our reporter’s question, Mohammad-Reza Rahimi reiterated, “Our country has on various occasions rushed to assist the victims of natural disaster victims in different countries, and now we are ready for receiving the contributions of different countries to Quake victims in Ahar, Varzaqan and Haris townships.” On Saturday evening, two strong earthquakes measuring 6.2 and six degrees on open-ended Richter scale shook Hahar, Varzaqan, and Haris townships in Iran’s northwestern East Azarbaijan province. At least 306 people have been killed and over 3037 others injured, according to the ministry of health./end
