Red-shirt and Pheu Thai Party members extend birthday wishes to ‘Chavalit’ and ‘Yaowapa’
BANKGOK, May 15 (TNA) – Former Thai prime minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, and key figure of the Pheu Thai Party Yaowapa Wongsawat opened their residences in Bangkok to welcome crowds of well-wishers on their birthday on Friday.
Key Pheu Thai Party figures including Sanoh Thienthong, Plodprasop Surasawadi and Yongyuth Wichaidit and former MPs called on General Chavalit, who turned 85 today, at his residence in Bangkok to wish him a happy birthday.
Sanoh told reporters that he wished General Chavalit great health and said he hoped the former prime minister would play some part in the national administration to help move the country forward in future again.
General Chavalit offered thanks to his guests and asked them to join forces for the last time to help bring back prosperity to the country, saying the people were in trouble and needed help.
Meanwhile, Yaowapa opened her residence on Chaeng Watthana Road to members from the Pheu Thai Party and its former coalition parties, who came to visit her a happy birthday today.
At the celebration to mark her 60th birthday, her husband and former prime minister Somchai Wongsawat aired his view on the draft constitution, saying that he hoped the next Thai charter would meet international standard and would be accepted by the international community.
He also said t a referendum on the draft constitution should be held because people have played no part in its drafting process. (TNA)
