Relations between Moscow, Pyongyang reaching new level - North Korea’s ambassador

MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. Relations between Moscow and Pyongyang are reaching a new level, and in 2015 both countries will exchange delegations at the highest level, North Korean Ambassador to Russia Kim Hyun Joon said on Thursday. "Recently, relations between our countries have reached a new level in the focus of the most intense attention of our countries’ leaders," the diplomat said. "Contacts and reciprocal visits at the highest level have intensified lately, like never before." Favourable conditions have been created for strengthening economic ties, he said. "An agreement on settling debts has come into force and mutual payments in roubles have started among the banks, while Russian business people are receiving multiple visas," the ambassador said. "The current year is a landmark as the celebrations marking 70th anniversary of Korea’s liberation and 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War are to be held," Kim Hyun Joon said. "Not long ago, our countries announced this year as the Year of Korean-Russian friendship, proceeding from a mutual aspiration to raise the relationship to a new level." The ambassador said that Russia and North Korea would continue to exchange delegations and would promote economic cooperation. "We always offer sincere congratulations to the Russians on all their big successes reached under Russian President Vladimir Putin’s leadership in advancing national interests and sovereignty and in building a strong state," he said.
