Rodong Sinmun on Japanese Reactionaries' Discrimination against Korean Children in Japan

Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan recently sent self-governing bodies notices demanding "reexamination" of the issue of subsidies to Korean schools. This was, in fact, the revelation of the sinister intention of the Japanese reactionaries to stop subsidies to the Korean schools, Rodong Sinmun Thursday says in a commentary. It goes on: The Japanese authorities are responsible for guaranteeing the Koreans in Japan democratic national rights and interests and firmly protecting them. In view of international law, the educational rights of other nations should be ensured. However, the Japanese reactionaries are staging farces contrary to it. The Japanese reactionaries' issue of subsidies to Korean schools is not a simple matter of education but a political problem. The Japanese reactionaries' act of hurting the feelings of Korean children in Japan reminds people once again of the criminal action of the Japanese imperialists to deprive Koreans of their own spoken and written languages and even their full names in a bid to exterminate the Korean nation. -0-
