Rohani Conveys Message Of Peace To World: Scholar

New Delhi, Oct 1, IRNA – Describing the Iranian President’s visit to NY as “successful”, an Indian religious scholar Monday said he conveyed his country’s message of peace “live and let live” to the world. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Maulana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi, President of Shaheed Motahhari Society in Delhi, said, the speech by President Hassan Rohani at UNGA proved that the Persian Gulf nation firmly believed in “live and let live” policy. He said that the Iranian President, stressing the need to eliminate nuclear and other anti-human weapons from the world within a time-bound framework, has drawn the world attention towards the future where all resources are protected, valued and used for development rather than wars. Jalal noted that Rohani in his address used “logic”, saying that sustainable peace could be achieved only through dialogue and negotiations, not by compiling weapons, threats and violence”. Reiterating that nuclear weapons and other WMDs have no place in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s defence doctrine, Jalal, who is also the Joint Secretary of the Majlis Ulema-e-Hind, praised Rohani’s willingness to remove the doubts about Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, without compromising on its legitimate rights. He urged the West to accept, respect and recognize Iran’s peaceful nuclear program. The Indian religious scholar expressed his pleasure that Rohani was not only successful in conveying Iran’s peace message, but simultaneously secured his countries rights with dignity. “The result was achieved when Obama called up his Iranian counterpart at the end of the visit. This is a diplomatic success for the Iranian nation,” he concluded./end
