Russia, Paraguay to train specialists to combat terrorism - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, October 18. /TASS/. Moscow and Asuncion will begin training qualified specialists in the fight against terrorism, Russian and Paraguayan Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Eladio Loizaga have said in a joint statement posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry. "The two ministers expressed their determination to actively cooperate on both the bilateral basis and in the multilateral formats in combating international terrorism, transnational organized crime and illegal drug production and trafficking, including through the joint training of competent personnel," the ministry noted. Lavrov and Loizaga also pointed to the importance of boosting international cooperation to bring to light and prevent the corruption phenomena, which "represent an important element used by transnational organized crime for its activities in the field of drug trafficking and related crimes."
