Moscow, Jan 14, IRNA – A senior Russian expert has said that the present anti-Iran sanctions would hinder holding an effective talks between Iran and the 5+1 Group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany). Speaking to IRNA recently, Deputy head of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Chufrin called for the removal of anti-Iran sanctions. He said that the one-sided sanctions of West had negative effects on Iran and 5+1 negotiations. The export also urged western countries to change their literature toward Iran and respect the legitimate rights of the country. As for the efforts made by the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy to safeguard Iran's nuclear rights as a committed signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Chufrinn said Moscow has proposed a step-by-step plan which would play a pivotal role in progressing Tehran's talks with the 5+1 states. Noting that Iran's confidence building measures were the focal point of Russia's proposed plan, the expert called for gradual removal of the anti-Iran sanctions in return for Tehran's transparent nuclear activities./end
