Sanctions Against Iran Lead To Dead-end: Kazakh Official

Astana, Oct 13, IRNA – Chairperson of the 10th Eurasia Media Forum said that imposing sanctions against Iran is a way which leads to dead end and settling the problem through this way is impossible. Dariga Nazarbayeva, the eldest daughter of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, in an exclusive interview with IRNA in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, said she does not welcome sanctions against Iran and believes that existing problems should be settled through diplomatic ways and dialog. Dariga, who is head of Culture and Information Committee of Kazakhstan Parliament, said that the sole result of the imposed sanctions is harming ordinary people. Answering a question concerning Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities, Dariga said she is for Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, adding that other countries are pursuing the same program, so there is no bad issue in this concern. Nazarbayeva continued that if peaceful nuclear energy can help people life and decrease a government expenses and is helpful to develop infra-structures and social fields in a country, why is it a problem? She described Iran’s peaceful nuclear program clear and said that nowadays, nobody can avoid using nuclear energy, because it does not have any substitute. The 10th Eurasia Media Forum kicked off on Thursday in the presence of Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mihman-parast as guest and special lecturer in the city of Astana, capital of Kazakhstan and wrapped up its work on Friday./end
