Some seeking to take advantage of next report of IAEA on Iran
TEHRAN, Nov.2 (MNA) – During his weekly press briefing, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast replied to a question about the news reports saying that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is scheduled to issue on Iran’s nuclear program in the near future may not be a positive one.
“The fact that certain people are saying that the agency may mention in its next report that Iran’s nuclear program is not peaceful illustrates that certain governments are seeking to use a report, which has not yet been published, for political purposes,” he stated.
On the fact that Russia and China has expressed hope that the IAEA would remain independent and professional with an objective and impartial attitude, and cautiously resolve the issue based on facts, Mehmanparast said that the move will help elevate the agency’s legal status.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mehmanparast commented on the fact that Palestine became a full member of the UN cultural and educational agency on Monday.
The move was a symbolic move which showed the people’s support for the Palestinian nation at the international level, the official pointed out.
