Three Men Shot Dead In Southern Thailand

PATTANI (Southern Thailand), March 4 (Bernama) -- Three men, one of them a soldier on leave, were found shot dead on Thursday in three incidents in southern Thailand. A police spokesman in Yala, Capt Prachaya Hedmat, said a rubber tapper was found shot dead and his body burnt in Mukim Baroh, Yaha District, at 6.30am. The tapper, Chatchai Seithong, 55, was believed to have been shot in the back with a pistol by an unidentified individual, he said. In the second incident, Anas Damuso, 26, a soldier on leave, was found dead with gunshot wounds believed to be from an AK47 rifle in Jalan Pak Yaning-Jok Bongo, Muang, in Yala, he said. Anas had been attached to the Rangers Company 41 at the Wang Paya Camp and his body was found not far from his house, said Muang Police chief Col Jamlong Suwaluck. A police probe team found seven AK47 bullet casings at the scene, he added. In the third incident, a 44-year-old officer of an electricity utility was found shot to death while on duty in Kampung Basar Wakseng, Pattani, at 1.50pm. --BERNAMA
