Top Turkish diplomat to participate in London conference on Somalia

LONDON (A.A) - February 22, 2012 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is set to participate in an international conference in London on Somalia.   The conference will discuss latest political developments in Somalia, combat on terror and piracy as well as international humanitarian assistance against drought and starvation.  The participants of the event are also expected to pen a declaration at the end of the conference over measures in Somalia. The United States, United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, United Nations, the Arab League, European Union, Organization of the Islamic Cooperation are among countries and international institutions to take part in the conference.        Turkey had made a cash aid of TRY550 million (nearly $315 million) and an aid of TRY90 million in kind to Somalia so far.
