Turkey condemns rocket attack on Turkish embassy in Baghdad

ANKARA (A.A) - January 18, 2012 - Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the rocket attack on Turkish Embassy in Baghdad on Wednesday. The ministry noted that there were no casualties in the attack. The ministry said it strongly condemned the attack, and expressed expectation from Iraqi officials to find the attackers as well as to prevent such attacks in the future. Earlier in the day, diplomatic sources told the AA that two rocket-propelled hand grenades were launched against the Turkish Embassy in Baghdad at about 13.10 hours (Baghdad local time). One of the hand grenades hit the walls of the Turkish Embassy. The other one fell on the road by the embassy. Meanwhile, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and Finance Minister Rafi al-Issawi called Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on the phone, and expressed sadness, and wished recovery.
