UAE balances between innovation and sustainability of achievements: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid

Abu Dhabi, June 6, 2012 (WAM) - Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has underlined that the UAE is a role model in development and a unique success story that should be related to young Emiratis and friends. "The UAE is a good example for a balance between openness and tolerance characterised with pride about the national identity and culture. It also strikes a balance between the innovation and creativity with keenness on sustainability of the achievements. And the balance of state power influence at global level with the state's recent age and experience," he added. Sheikh Mohammed made the remarks, while chairing the Cabinet meeting in the presence of H. H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and H. H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. He ordered during the meeting publishing of the hallmark designs of the UAE on the website of the Prime Minister for the electronic vote within one week of its publishing. The hallmark design is the new promotional motto of the UAE, which will be used internally and externally to highlight the unified promotional identity of the UAE and express its uniqueness and aspects that distinguish it from other countries. The motto will be used in accordance with a strategic plan based on coordination between all government agencies and non-governmental organisations. The participation in local and external events will be exploited to send the message of the UAE to the world. The special message will focus on promotional aspects of the state as a federal entity and with the impact on the global economic and political status, prestigious political status, and with an internal environment that attracts all tourism, economic and cultural activities. The Council of Ministers approved setting up of the Advisory Council for Arabic Language to be chaired by Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development. It aims to implement the resolutions of the Arabic Language Charter launched recently the Prime Minister. Meanwhile, the Cabinet endorsed in its session yesterday the budget of the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Housing Programme for fiscal year 2011 at total expenditure Dhs1.4 billion to set up the complex residential projects for citizens. It also approved the budget of Emirates Transport for the financial year 2012. The projected total operation income is Dhs3.1 billion and the percentage of profits in the budget is 30 percent of the capital. The percentage of distribution of profits reaches 24 percent of the capital. The Council of Ministers also agreed to forming of the higher committee to host the International Telecommunications Exhibition to be headed by the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA). The event will be hosted by the UAE in October and will coincide with GITEX. It also approved the reshuffle of the Higher Ministerial Committee for strengthening national and communal cohesion under the chair of Maitha Al Shamsi and membership of representatives of the ministries of Education, Health, Labour, Culture, National Media Council, and representation from the Supreme Council for National Security. The Committee aims to coordinate and mobilise social efforts at both the governmental and private level in order to launch the initiatives that consolidate the concept of family cohesion and social solidarity among various segments of the community of the UAE, and to instil the Islamic and Arab values, and uphold the values of good citizenship. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
