UNSC Member: Probable Reduction Of Anti-Iran Sanctions, Natural

New York, May 16, IRNA – Portugal’s permanent representative at the United Nations Jose Cabral said the probable reduction of anti-Iran sanctions in future is natural. Talking to IRNA, he said he was optimistic over the outcome of the upcoming talks between Tehran and the 5+1 in Baghdad. He said the talks have been going on for a long time and hoped the outcome of the Baghdad negotiations would be satisfying for both sides. He also said decisions on probable reduction of the United Nations sanctions against Iran could be made only after the results of the Baghdad talks are revealed. Iran and the IAEA held two rounds of talks in the Iranian capital in January and February. The new round of talks between Iran and the IAEA comes as Tehran and the G5+1 (Britain, France, Russia, China and the United States plus Germany) are preparing to hold another multifaceted meeting in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on May 23./end
