US air strikes near Iraq's Haditha Dam

TEHRAN, Sep. 07 (MNA) – The United States jet fighters have begun air strikes near Iraq's Haditha Dam to prevent ISIL threat. A US defense official who has spoken on the condition of anonymity, said the air strikes were at request of Iraqi government and “in keeping with our mission to protect US personnel and facilities.” Haditha Dam has recently been under threat from ISIL terrorist group militants. “These strikes are being conducted to prevent the terrorists from further threatening Iraqi security forces in control of the dam,” said the American official.
