Winners of “Beautiful Mongol Script” contest to receive scholarships

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj took part Monday in a prize granting ceremony of the “Beautiful Mongol Scrip” national contest organized by the “Khumuun bichig” weekly newspaper of the MONTSAME news agency. Organized for the 19th time nationwide, this year’s contest was attended by mores than 1,000 people from all aimags and Ulaanbaatar. The oldest contestants are 90-year old S.Jigmedsuren from Bayangol district, A.Morkhoo (Bulgan aimag’s Teshig soum) and T.Batbayar (Tov aimag’s Batsumber soum), whereas the youngest is E.Burenjargal, a 3rd grade pupil from Tov aimag’s Altanbulag soum. The organizers noted that creative works of the contests are higher of that of previous contests in terms of quality. This year’s contest has a new category “The best class of beautiful Mongol script”, and its winner has been awarded a prize of travelling abroad. During the ceremony, the President underlined that the Mongol script is a wonderful heritage created by the Mongolians, and it inherited our culture to present time. “The Mongol script possesses big energy. This is simply art. I really wish the script was widely used across the country soon,” Mr Elbegdorj said. He thanked the MONTSAME agency and its “Khumuun bichig” paper for organizing the national contest for many years.
