Iran Ranks 16th In Producing Science : VP

Tehran, Sept 24, IRNA – The Islamic Republic of Iran has advanced to the 16th position in producing science, First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi said on Sunday. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 21st Iranian Hand-Woven Carpet Exhibition, he added that Iran attained the position at a time when the enemies resorted to everything to stop the Iranian nation’s progress. Stating that nuclear issue is an excuse for mounting pressure and imposing sanctions on Iran, Rahimi further noted that the enemies are seeking to prevent the Iranian nation from making progress. Currently, Iran produces science as much as 11 times of the global average level which indicates that the Iranian nation is a great and vigilant nation, he said. Referring to the production of the blasphemous film against Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), the official noted that the sedition was orchestrated by the Zionist regime to disturb interaction among the nations. Underlining that Iran attaches special respect to all the prophets and faiths, he added, “We wish happiness for all the humanity and favor obliterating poverty from the world.” Describing Iranian hand-woven carpet as originated in the genuine Iranian art and culture, he said that the remaining works reveal that the Iranian civilization is ancient and great. Rahimi recalled the government’s all-out support for the carpet industry and said that officials of the National Carpet Center should help promote production and export the Iranian carpet./end
